(From Our Own Correspondent.) RANGIOTU, April 6,

The eighth annual meeting of the Huia Football Club was hold last week, when there was a gcod attendance of mcmbcr> and supporters. Mr H. H. Simmons was voted to the chair. The chairman eon gratulatcd the club on winning the McIvclvie Shield in the junior competition, and on being runners-up for the Henson Knock-out a Cup. He also thanked the players and members for their support, which had materially assisted to maintain the spirit of the national game in the district. In representative matches the juniors were strongly in evidence and every members selected to play proved a credit to the sub-union and the club. During the yeai the club held its annual ball, the function proving both a financial and social success. Special thanks were due to -Mr W . Hill for placing his grounds at the disposal of the club. The chairman feelingly referred to the great loss sustained bv . the sub-union through the death of Mr J. F. MclCelvic, who had been a tower of strength to all its activities since its inception. One minutes silence was observed in remembrance of the late Mr McKclvie. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £8 8s 2d, an increase of £5 12s 2d on the previous season. Appreciation of the services of the secretary (Mr F,. Donaldson) was placed on record in the minutes. It was resolved that the club enter a senior team this season, with the possibility of a junior team if sufficient inducement warrants it. A further resolution of the meeting was that playing members’ subscriptions be 3s 6d for the season. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr W. Hill; president, Mr H H.
