SCOTTISH INGLESIDE.

The Manawatu Scottish Society, last evening, entered upon its series of fortnightly inglesides in the Cosmopolitan Hall, and the large attendance augured well for future occasions. The profits of the ingleside a.re to be forwarded to the McGregor Fund. The usual standard of high-class music was maintained hv the society’s orchestra and everything went off to the satisfaction of patrons. A humorous turn was given by Mr C. A. Voss. An appetising supper was prepared by an energetic committee, and pianoforte music for an extra dance was played bv Miss Lampard. The chief of the society, Mr J. S. Jenkinson, in the course of a few remarks, stated that the date for the holding of the next “Gathering o’ the Clans” had been definitely set down for July 1. Mr Jenkinson added that two prizes, one for the lady and one for the gentleman, had been donated to the society to be won in a waltzing competition. This competition has been set down to commence at the next ingleside. The winners of the Monte Carlo waltz last evening were Miss M. Levins and Mr C. E. Griffiths, and 'of the lucky partner Gay Gordons, Miss Grimstone and Mr Medway. Mr H. Hughes was M.C.
