Simcocks, who has been acting-Treasurer for the mandated territory of New Guinea for the past year, said yesterday that the territory was facing, the problem of too much revenue. The development of goldmining was mainly responsible for the mountiug surplus, a great deal of which was being spent on developmental work. Taxation had already been reduced to a minimum, and agriculturalists had been freed from taxes altogether.
