SWIMMING CARNIVAL.

OPENING EVENT,

The first swimming carnival of the Feilding Swimming Club of the 1936 season attracted a good attendance to the municipal baths, last night, where the club had provided an excellent programme. Swimmers from the Palmerston North clubs, Dannevirke and Levin were present in iorco and took a fair share of the honours. The hamdicapping generally appeared to be rather severe on the scratch men, most of the events being taken by competitors either on or near the limit mark. T The carnival was opened bv Mr J. G. Eliott, patron of the club, who extended a welcome to the public and competitors and wished the club eveiy success. , „ . .
