EMPEROR MANS GUN. RAS DESTA’S TROOPS. SUPPLY DIFFICULTIES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received January 21, 8.50 a.in. LONDON, Jan. 20. Supplementing the Abyssinian disparagement, the Italian version of the Ganale-Dorva battle says the Ethiopian headquarters, without: reference to the Emperor, issued .a special communique declaring that the Italian claims were completely false and merely designed to impress the League Council. It recalls that the Abvssinians announced on January 13 that Ras Dosta was withdrawing his troops up Lite OanaleDorya sector to solve supply difficulties.
A message from Dessie says the Emperor, personally used a machine-gun against an Italian bomber which circled the Palace at a high altitude. The Rome correspondent- of the Times says that authoritative circles describe the Ganale-Dorva victory as important rather than decisive, and express the opinion that a decisive blow will he struck on the northern front. Motor transport gave the Italian pursuers a marked advantage over the High t-wcaried A by ssiniaus.
General Graziam allegedly sent a message to his men : “Chase the enemy and give him no rest. Get your teeth into him.”
Marsha] Badoglio’s communique says he is still relentlessly, pursuing Has .Desta’s troops, many of whom, in a deplorable condition, have surrendered, begging food. Addis Ababa reports that large reinforcements are stated to be en route to join Ras Desta.
