CYCLE RACING.

CONTESTS AT SPORTSGROUND. The Counties’ Cash Cycling Club presented a tabloid sports meeting at the Sportsground on Friday, before a good attendance of enthusiasts. Two events were contested and in both instances interesting finishes were forthcoming, the detailed placing's being as under:— One mile cvcle race.—J. Luxmoore (120yds) 1, P. Sheridan (120) 2, J. Jamieson (100) 3; won by two lengths; seven starters. Three mile cycle.—M. Luxmoore (virtual scratch) 1, It. Meehan (80yds) 2, P. Sheridan (230) 3; won by a length; seven starters A boys’ race was arranged on the ground and six young riders contested the event, the winner uroving to be A. Meehan, a younger member of a wellknown family of track cyclists.
