Mrs W. F. Field, of 17 Rongopai Street, returned on Saturday from the half-yearly conference of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, which was held last week at Hamilton. Mrs N. Sinclair, of Palmerston North, is visiting Auckland. Miss G. Whitehead and Miss M. Shailer, of Palmerston North, are spending a holiday in Wellington. After a visit to Auckland, Air and Airs T. W. Henderson and family have returned to Karina Terrace. Aliss L. Murray, of Palmerston North, is visiting Napier. Air and Airs Roy Garner and family, of St. John’s Avenue, are on holiday at Foxton Beach. Mrs H. Prince, of Napier Road, has had as her guest Airs A. J. Frith,'’ of Auckland, who has now returned home. Airs A. S. Dalgllesh, president of the Otago Croquet Association, is a visitor to Palmerston North. After visiting Hamilton, Airs J. A. Harris and Airs W. Stevens have returned to Marton. Airs AicLean and Alias Pat Ross, of “Edenkiliie Park,” Palmerston North, are visiting Hatuma. Hawke’s Bav, as the guests of Airs AV. Hamilton. Aliss Payne, of Rangiora, returned by airliner to the south yesterday, after a month’s holiday touring ‘the North Island and visiting Palmerston North. Lady Wavertree, of London, will attend the tennis tournaments,at Danne virke. , Alenibers of the New Zealand Cloquet Council who will visit Palmerston North for the New Zealand croquet championships are Captain F. L. Hartnell (president), Airs Hamilton, Air McCreath (vice-presidents), Airs Austin (secretary). Airs Cahlow (as-sistant-secretary), Mrs Bartlett (official handicapper), and Air A. G. F. Ross (New .Zealand referee). There will be visitors from Auckland and as far south as Dunedin. The young Auckland violinist, Aliss Leela Bloy, for whom a benefit concert was held some weeks ago, was on Friday morning presented with a cheque to enable her to leave for Australia, where she will further her studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Alusic. The presentation was made by the Alayoress, Airs Finest Davis. WO At AN PREACHER ARRIVES. ACCIDENT ON SHIP. Rev. Dorothy Wilsoii, B.Litt., who arrived at Wellington yesterday by the Remuera from London, unfortunately suffered from a fall on board ship a week ago. She was enable to proceed ashore owing to slight concussion, and is resting for another day or two on medical advice. Dr. Wilson will preach during her stay of several weeks in Wellington. She is assistant minister to the historic church of Carr’s Lane, Birmingham, and was formerly secretary of the voting people’s department of the Presbyterian Church in England. She is one of the few women who have been ordained to the ministry. She is also a writer of well-known hooks on religious education.
