AUSTRALIAN PLAY IN LONDON. London critics give a mixed reception to Mr Henry C. James’s “Golden Goose,” which has been recliristened “Golden Gander,” and was produced at the Embassy Theatre, Swiss Cottage, London. They agree m praising Coral Brown, .formerly of Melbourne. The Times says: “Tlie rejection of obvious romanticism is the best feature of this good,'rough comedy.” The Daily Telegraph regards the play as formless. The Evening News considers that it loses its way. Tlie Evening Standrad admits that it is delightfully acted. The Star says: “.Severe criticism writild be ungracious.” The action of “Golden Gander,” in which prominence is given to Rat Hanna, is centred among gold-seekers of Central Australia.
