CLAIM FOR HORSE.
ELECTROCUTED IN STOIIAI. HAAIILTON, Jan. 16. A claim for £45, the value of a horse which was electrocuted, was made by the owner, Air J. Calvert, of 1< airfield, against the Central Waikato Electric Power Board to-day. The claim was referred to the board’s insurers, members considering that the horse was worth the money asked. Air J. it. Ellis (engineer) advised the board that the horse was killed by a broken service line in Clarkin’s Road.
The line was a triple-braided covered wire, which, oil coming down during the storm, fell across a fence without blowing the fuse. The horse in the paddock came into contact with either the service wire or the fence, which would ho alive, and was electrocuted. The service line had been up for 14 years.
