HIGHWAY COLLISION
YOUNG MAN SERIOUSLY HURT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Dec. 11. Shortly after ten o’clock last evening an accident occurred on the Foxton-Hima-tangi highway a short distance past Air W. Wilby’s farm at Motuiti, as a result of which Mr Robin Chrystall, a married man, residing at Himatangi, was admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital suffering from a compound fracture of the leg and abrasions. His injuries were received as the result of a collision between a motor cycle ho was riding and a car driven by Air George Lamb, of Foxton. Air Lamb, who was accompanied by Mr F. Robinson, of Foxton, was proceeding towards Foxton and Air Chrystall towards bis home a short distance further up the road. The cycle and car collided with considerable force, Mr Chrystall’s leg being jarnbed against the mudguard, which was buckled up. The front wheel of the car was also damaged to such an extent that it had to bo brought into Foxton by lorry. The cycle was badly damaged. A doctor was summoned and attended Mr Chrystall prior to his admission to the Hospital by ambulance. No one in the car was injured. Air Chrystall is a son of Air and Airs J. Chrystall, of Lady’s Milo, Foxton, and ho received serious injuries to the same leg a year or so ago when a home-made aeroplane which he was flying crashed at Manawatu Heads.
Mr Chrystall’s condition to-day was still serious.
