VARIEGATED THISTLE.
MENACE CAUSES CONCERN. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Dec. 11. The provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union to-day discussed the menace of variegated thistle, which lias spread worse than ever in the district this season. It was stated that thousands of acres were infested and it "was almost impossible to eradicate it on hilly country. > , It was decided to recommend that the thistle be placed on the first schedule of noxious weeds in counties in the provincial district.
