WOODVILLE.

WOODVILLE, Nov. 20

Miss Jean Stevenson recently presented her pupils in her first elocutionary recital in the tVoodville district. There was a capacity audience, who were most appreciative of the programme presented. The Mayoress (Mrs H. P. Horne) was in the chair and at a suitable interval expressed the thanks of the Plunket Society to Miss Stevenson for her generous action in organising the concert and donating the proceeds to the AA'oodville branch of the society. Items were contributed by June Dalgleish, Ngaire Holbrook, Keith Dougherty, Albert Mac Lean, Lorna Whiteman and Maurice Munro. Nita Lawrence, Miss sadie Dean, Shirley Sinclair, Norma Gilbert, Miss Stevenson, Ida McKay Miss Dean, Lorna Whiteman. Lynda Richards and Ida McKav and June Dalgleish.. Mrs R. R. Johnston and Mrs J. Sinclair and Mr H. Brooker played the accompaniments. Mrs W. Dean, of Clive, is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs H. S. Nilsson, Woodville.
