QUETTA DISASTER.
SERVICES RECOGNISED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Nov. 19. In connection with the earthquake at Quetta in May a number of awards have been made by the King and by the Viceroy of India. The honours include the appointment of Major-General Henry Karslake, who was General Com-manding-in-Chief of the Western Command at the time, to be a Knight Commander of ' the Order of the Star of India, and of Lieut.Colonel S. G. S. Haughton, officiating as Assistant Director of Medical Services, to be a Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire. _ ' An appeal has been issued in England, signed among others by. the Secretary for India (Lord Zetland), Lord Halifax and Sir Samuel Iloare, Foreign Secretary, for funds for a new hospital at Quetta.
