LAWN TENNIS

DOMINION ASSOCIATION. Per Press Association WELLINGTON, Nov. 20. A declaration that unless the major associations cultivated a more understanding attitude toward the minor associations there might be a split in the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association was made to a meeting of tho council to-night by BL - G. A. Pownall (Wanganui). His remarks arose during the discussion of the allocation of profits from the tours of overseas teams when an appeal by the minor associations for a portion of the money was opposed by Wellington and Canterbury Mr Pownall warned the meeting that if the selfish attitude went much further there was a distinct prospect of an opposition association being founded. Delegates deprecated the reference to major and minor associations and any attempt to set the small associations against tho large ones. No definite basis of allocation was fixed. A statement showing receipts amounting to £lO7 from the Davis Cup match between New Zealand and Czechoslovakia was tabled. It was decided to secure expressions of opinion from the associations as to the advisability of entering a team in the next series.

The levy on affiliated associations was fixed at 3d a player.
