DAIRY FACTORIES.
MANAWATU ASSOCIATION. Mr S. A. Broadbelt presided over a meeting of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Factories’ Association held yesterday. Also present were Messrs P. Hansen, H. Bailees, J. Boyce, and J. R. Whyte. An apology for absence was received from Mr S. E. Algar. A letter was received from the Department of Agriculture with regard to having all bags of meal clearly marked to show the food value of the contents.—Received.
The Executive Commission of Agriculture wrote in regard to the consent of companies to the disclosure of the full information in the auditors’ special report to the executive of the companies concerned. Mr Raikes moved, and Mr Boyce seconded, that all information and figures, being the outcome of the survey asked for by members oi the association, be made available to the companies concerned, which are subscribing to the cost of the survey, with the understanding that the information is confidential, and not for publication.—Carried. A lengthy discussion took place on the difficulty of obtaining labour for dairy farms, as single men were loth to leave the camps, and it was resolved to interview Mr Cadwallader un the subject. Accounts amounting to 15s were passed for payment.
