FROZEN MEAT TRADE.
The Now Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Dist. Coy., Ltd., have received the following advice from London :—Lamb, better demand; prices have cased id. SHIPiMENTS DURING OCTOBER. Shipments of frozen meat during October, the first month of the 1935-36 season, show decreases in lamb, pork and beef, and a large increase in mutton, compared with those for October, 1934. Details of last month’s shipments are given in the following t'aulo, the totals for October, 1934, being shown for comparative purposes:—• Frozen

Killings for export at all works last month were as follow; those for October, 1934, being shown in parentheses:—Chilled beef, quarters, 5650 ( —). Frozen beef, quarters, 1859 (777). Wether mutton, carcases, 10,434 (3248). Ewe mutton, carcases, 1022 (1111). Lamb carcases, 50,519 (47.910). Pork (porkers), carcases, 18,338 (41,224). Pork (baconers), carcases, 17.244 (11,862). Boneless beef, frt. carcases, 7244 (800). Sundries, frt. carcases, 38,709 (24,477). Stocks of moat in cold stores in tho Dominion at October 31 were as follows, the figures for the corresponding date of last year being shown in parentheses:—Chilled beef, quarters, 1422 ( —). Frozen beef, quarters, 19,537 (21,533). Wether mutton, carcases, 12,312 (9017). Ewe mutton, carcases, 16,487 (2343). Lamb carcases, 47,051 (28,834). Pork (porkers), carcases, 12,641 (23,806). Pork (baconers), carcases, 14,899 (10,040). Boneless beef, frt. carcases, 36,612 (178,242). Sundries, frt. carcases, 98,424 (71,135).
Stocks of meat loaded into ships not departed from New Zealand at October 31 wore as follow, with those for the corresponding date of last year in parentheses:— Chilled beef, quarters, 3194 ( —). Frozen beef, quarters, 1615 (16,877). Wether mutton, carcases, 10,397 (3302). Ewe mutton, carcases, 29,267 (6346). Lamb carcases, 861 (3143). Pork (porkers), carcases, 4096 (12,539). Pork (baconers), carcases, 5277 (2139). Tho Meat Board is advised by cable from its London office that the shipments from Australia, South America, and South Africa to the United Kingdom during October were as follows: — Australia: 27,474 carcases mutton, 605,120 carcases lamb, 51,181 quarters beef (frozen), 11,102 quarters beef (chilled). South America: 6325 carcases mutton, 371,385 carcases lamb, 1661 quarters beef (frozen), 443,669 quarters beef (chilled). South Africa: 9846 quarters (beef (chilled).
