MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
CHARGE AT CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 19. An alleged attempt to obtain £6O from the parents of a civil servant who was under arrest for theft, by representing that there was an additional shortage in the accounts of his department, was the substance of a charge brought in the Magistrate’s Court to-day against a salesman, William Alexander Welsh. He pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial.
