KEEN GENERAL COMPETITION
SYDNEY, Nov. 18,
At the wool sales all the best features of last week were in evidence to-day. Values were fully equal to closing rates, and at times in sellers’ favour. There was keen general competition with increased support from Yorkshire and tho United States. Greasy Merino sold to 24i pence. A total of 13,061 bales was offered. 12,451 boing sold lit auction and 1066 privately. The average price of wool at Sydney last week was £l7 12s 8d a bale or 14.2 pence a pound.
