BUILDING PLANS.
REQUIREMENTS OF HOSPITAL. “The information will be of a startling nature when members learn what is proposed," stated the chairman (Mr J. K. Hornblow) at the meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board yesterday afternoon, when it was stated that a report had been prepared, with a commentary on requirements, for a five-year building plan to provide the accommodation increasingly required at the institution. A special building committee, which will be required to meet frequently during the next four months, was sot up by the board. It consists of Messrs J. Tv. Hornblow, J. Hodgens, G. A. Monk, V. E. Smith. IV. Howell, and the managing-secretary (Mr A. J. Phillips). . ' Mr Smith asked if plans were to be drawn for a hospital at Feilding. The chairman: I do think, if the population increases as fast as at present in Palmerston North, that in the not far distant future, we will have to build an institution at Feilding, and possibly at another place. Mr A. E. Mansford: I am disappointed. I thought you were going to say that Feilding would be absorbed in Palmerston North.
Mr Smith: There is no need for that remark. It has been absorbed already. Mr Mansford: But not digested.
