£1,000,000 FOR IMPROVEMENTS. MELBOURNE. Sept. 25. The Premier (Mr A. Dunstan) announced to-night the allocation of £1 000,000 for rebuilding, improvements and additions to metropolitan and country hospitals The monev would be made available by grant and Of the amount, £750,000 is for tho removal of the Royal Melbourne Hospital from its present site in the centre of the city to a site away from the noise of the city, which has long been advocated. To the amount granted by the Government will bo added the proceeds of the sale of the present site. Other metropolitan hospitals covered bv the grants are Prince sf 000, the dental hospital £55 000, St. Vincent’s £40,000 and the , pital £90.000. I<V country hospitals £IOO,OOO is provided.
