LONGBURN.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LONG BURN, Sept. 24.
The homo of Air and Airs J. Hcarsey was the scene of a jolly party which was held to celebrate the birthday of Air J. Hcarsey, junr. The time was spent in dancing and games, competitions being won bv Aliss M. Rowland and Air S. Richardson. After a dainty supper had been partaken of, Air S. Rowland proposed tbo health of the guest of honour, who was accorded musical honours. Air J. Hcarsey, junr., suitably replied and cut the birthday cake, which was banded round to the guests. Mr Rowland, on behalf of those present, thanked the host and hostess for their hospitality. Those present were: Alisscs L. Hcarsey, I’. Johnston, AI. Weddell, AJ. Rowland, J. Morley, J. Hcarsey, L. Weddell, I. Alorley; Alessrs J. Hcarsey, W. Johnston, S. Rowland, W. Weddell, I. Parkinson. S. Richardson, F. Hcarsey, A. Barber, R. Rowland and A. Alorley. Air J. Bowler is spending a holiday with friends in Wellington. Alt's Enniss lias returned to her home in Palmerston North, after staying with Alias P. Johnston, Karei'c.
