DAILY SURVEY
IN MANAWATU DISTRICT. . INVESTIGATORS APPOINTED. Following upon the decision made by the Executive Commission of Agriculture in conference with dairy factory representatives at Palmerston North, recently, two investigators have been appointed to make the economic survey which it was requested should be carried out in the district with a view to eliminating overlapping in cream collection and other breaches of the co-operative spirit. The appointees are Air C. H. Courteney. secretary of the Eltliam Cooperative Dairy Company, and Mr A\ r . AVestwater, internal auditor of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company (Hamilton). They have arrived in Palmerston North and have begun their work. It is expected to occupy at least a fortnight. Both have had a long association with the dairying industry. Air AA;estiva ter was the AVaikato member of a j special committee which was appointed about five years ago to examine the economic position of the dairy farmers. He has been internal auditor for the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company for the past nine years, and prior to that be was accountant to the company. He was also accountant in the old New Zealand Dairy Association before its amalgamation with the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company. Mr Courteney, who is a follow of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, has been secretary of the Elthnm Dairy Company for the past 10 years, and prior to that he had six years’ secretarial experience in the dairying industry in the Alanawatu as secretary of the Rongotea Dairy Company.
