SUMMER SPORT.

Y.M.C.A. CRICKET CLUB. The annual meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Cricket Club was held at the Y.M.C.A. on Friday evening, when the club’s president (Mr W. B. Cameron) presided over an attendance of 25 members. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs R. C. Donald, J. A. Grant, W. Cameron, L. Laurenson, J. A. Edwards, K. Struthers and C. Hincks. ■ , The report (previously published) and balanoe-sneet were read and adopted on the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr T. R. Hodder. In speaking to the report, Mr Cameron congratulated the club on its excellent record during the season. Air Hodder endorsed the remarks, making special reference to the performance of Messrs J. Alurchison and K. Hatch m the Hawke Cup games The election of officers resulted: President, Air W. B. Cameron (reelected) ; vice-presidents, Messrs J. C. Young, T. R. Hodder, J. A. Grant and L. Laurenson (re-elected); club captain, Mr G. Griggs (re-elected); secrotary and treasurer, Air G. Camerou (re-elected); management committee, the president, club captain, captains of teams, secretary (ex officio) and Messrs E. Weir, J. Griggs and Edwards; delegates to tne . annual meeting of the Manawatu Cricket Association, Alessrs G. Griggs and E. Weir. ™ Alessrs B. Elley, J • Gastm, T. Watt, N. Moulton, Brookie, Jeromson, and R. Sutherland were elected as new members. It was decided to again enter three teams in the Saturday competitions — one senior, one junior A, and one junior BA special vote of thanks was passed to members of the Umpires’ Association, the St. John Ambulance Division, the staff and directors of the Y.M.C.A., and to the Press. The opportunity was taken to hid farewell to Air R. Riley, a prominent member of the club for several years, who is under transfer to Dunedin, and the president asked Air Riley to accept a small presentation from his fellow cluo members. Air Riley suitably replied, expressing his regret at leaving the club.
