A GOOD ADVANCE.
WOOL SALE EXPECTATIONS. OPINION IN BRITAIN. LONDON, Sept. 14. The wool sales are opening on Tuesday, and prices are expected to show a good advance. The Yorkshire Post says that a Keen spot demand is confidently anticipated. Another strong factor in the generally sound and encouraging situation is the continued healthy rate of consumption of Merino tops, a factor which way. ultimately determine in no small measure the advent of major buying operations by Yorkshire in Australia. Topmakers’ contract lists are believed to be very good for this time of the year, and the call for deliveries is unusually brisk. Wool supplies against these contracts are not excessive.
One of the most encouraging feaof the whole trade is that further bulk business for semi-manufac-tured goods is available lor 1936 at prices not far removed from to-day’s. All indications suggest that wool will have to be much dearer than to-day before the demand is diverted in any other direction.
