NORTH-WEST FRONTIER
MARAUDING TRIBESMEN
MENACE TO BE REMOVED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received September 16, 11 a.m. CALCUTTA, Sept. 15. Thirty thousand British and Indian troops, forming what is known as the “Mohforce,” are concentrated between Peshawar and Katsai as a preliminary to large-scale operations against Mohmand tribesmen who are seriously menacing the security of the North-West Frontier.
The British force is holding a ninemile front in which it is estimated 1500 tribesmen are mustered, beyond the Nahakki Pass, but there are many thousands of others within call.
The troops are frequently being sniped, but up to tlie present there has been only one Indian casualty.

They include a month’s imprisonment for spreading false statements; powers are taken to suspend newspapers, and prohibit the importation of seditious books and newspapers
