PATROL OF ISLANDS.

LONDON, Sept. 14. It is reported from Athens that Italy is very active in the Dodecanese Islands, which are north-west of Crete, and is transporting troops and stores. Aircraft and destroyers are patrolling the islands, especially the small harbours and inlets. The destroyers are searching fishing boats. Heavy coastal guns liav r e been landed at Leros.

The Dodecanese Islands are a group of twelve islands lying north-east of Crete. Italy has had full sovereignty over the islands since the Treaty of Lausanne, this having been one of the conditions' of Italy’s entry into the World War.
