ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
KNOCK-OUT MATCHES. A series of knock-out matches was played at North Street Park on Saturday under the jurisdiction of the Manawatu Football Association. In the primary division, College Street beat Nomads by two goals to one after extra time had been playod, while Te Awe Awe (3) drew with Rovers 13), and Y.M.C.A. (3) beat St. Paul’s (0) in the fourth grade. The senior match, Wanganui versus Manawatu, did not take place, and the players in that grade indulged in a “scratch” game. MATCHES ELSEWHERE. Wellington.—First A division (Williams trophy): Marist 6v. Hospital 4. First B division (semi-final Victory Cup replay): Scottish Wanderers 2v. Seatoun 0. Christchurch. —Otago 3 v. Canterbury 2. This was the first match for the J. E. Jones Cup. It was one of the best games seen in Christchurch for many seasons. The young and fast Otago forwards played splendid football, and their superiority represented the margin between the teams. Auckland. —Falcon Cup final: Mt. Albert Grammar 5 v. Y.M.C.A. 3. Senior championship: Ponsonby 2 drew with Comrades 2. Ponsonby wins.
