WOODVILLE FLOWER SHOW
GOOD STANDARD 01<’ BLOOMS. Although the number of entries received for the annual flower show and bazaar held by the Ladies’ Guild of the Holy Trinity Church, Woodvilie, this week, was lower than was the case last year, the judges considered the standard high. The show was held in the Drill Hall, and there was a good attendance. The efficiency of tho secretaries (Mrs J. F. Jaine, flower section, and Miss If. Swede, bazaar section) ensured the smooth running of all the arrangements.
The judges were as follow: —Rev. G. B. Stephenson (Dannevirke), cut flowers, classes for beginners, collection of flowers other that, narcissi, collection of bulbs other than narcissi; and Mrs C. Thompson (Dannevirke), decorative and children’s classes. The stall-holders were as follow: Sweets, Misses J. Maokny and G. Biatchford; cake stall, Mesdames J. T. Horne, J. Mountfort, B. H. Norman; plain sewing, Mesdames F. de Malmanche, C. de Malmanche, T. Walker, A. C. Vowell; produce, Mesdames -R. R. Johnston and Thompson; fancy work, Mesdames P. H. Mules R. G. Smith, H. Noble, N. J. Gilbert; Christmas tree, Mesdames G. W. Davidson, R. Offwood, Misses Stace,
Bailey, Cross, Gothard; tea rooms, Mesdames J. Nelson, H. Hill, Cann, Nicholas, E. J. P. Simpson, Miss Barkwitli and helpers. Prizes were awarded as follow:
