(From Oar Own Correspondent.) TIAKITAHUNA, Sept. 13.
Residents oi the district beard with regret of the death of Miss Jean Ferguson. Of a bright and happy, nature, she had endeared herself to everyone and her charming personality will be sadly missed. It was while carrying out her near Patea as a Karitane nurse that an illness overtook her which necessitated her entering hospital, -and she had apparently recovered when a relapse was responsible for her untimely end. The funeral was of a private nature and took place at Patea. The sympathy of her many friends is extended to her family and particularly to Misses Matheson, with whom bliss Ferguson spent most of her time. The district also suffered a further loss in the death of Mr A. Corley, which tqok place at the Palmerston North Hospital on Tuesday. A former residont of the district, Mr Corley had made many friends and the news of his sudden death came as a shock. Mrs Corley predeceased her husband a few years ago. Much sympathy is extended to the bereaved family. At the fortnightly euchre party the winners were Mrs Lover and Mr H. Rowland, while consolation prizes were presented to Mrs F. Vautier and Mr G. James. Air W. Rowland has returned from Plimicerton, where he spent a few days’ fishing while the guest of Mr Roger Walker. Miss N.
