OHAKEA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) OHAKEA, Sept. 11. There was a good attendance of members at the weekly practice held on the Miniature Rifle Club’s range on Monday night. The shooting showed a decided improvement on the previous week’s scores, although only one possible was recorded, that being by F. Simpson. The top scorers were P. Ellery, K. Bailey and F. Simpson, with 13d each. The following have three sections in for Messrs Collinson and Son’s trophy: G. Wiggins, H. Ellery and E. Simpson. The individual scores were as follow: —P. Ellery, K. Bailey, F. Simpson, 69—69—138; G. Wiggins, E. Simpson, 68 — 69—137; H. Ellery, L. Koberstein, 68 —6B—, 136; W Kiait W Robinson, 68— 67—135; •I. Simpson, J. Frecklington, 66—68—134; G. Robinson, 67—66 —133; Desmond Ellery. Gordon Gray, S. Quinlan 66 —66—132; Glasford Gray, 65—65—1 LC; J. Ellery, 65 64—129; Dennis Ellery, 61—63 -124; A. Gammas, 60—55—115; M. Pearce, 70. Tho team to shoot against Bulls for the McKelvie Cup will bo selected from tho following: P. Ellery, K. Bailey, J. Simpson, C. Wiggins, E. Simpson, 11. Ellery, L. Koberstein, F. Simpson, and N. Leet. At tho conclusion of the shooting a meeting was held to discuss the wind-up dance and it was decided to hold a carnival dance in the Bulls Hall in October, if possible. The friends of Mr N. Leet will regret to learn that his mother is seriously ill in a privato hospital.
