THE BUDGET

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS. RELATING TO PENSIONS. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 11. The Budget is expected to contain important announcements relating to pensions, although the whole of the proposals may not be intended to become operative immediately. One most likely concession is a • pension provision for Expeditionary Force men who, although discharged fit, eventually developed a disability originating from war service. It is estimated this would cost £IOO,OOO per annum. Some pronouncement also may be expected regarding a general invalidity pensions scheme.
