FOXTON, Sept. 4. Two AA’craroa Training harm escapees were captured at Foxton on ’1 uesday. At the residence of Airs A. S. Huston on Tuesday afternoon a large number cf relatives and friends gathered together in honour cf Airs Easton s eighty-finh birthday. The rooms were decorated with a wealth of spring flowers, and tlie guests were received by Airs Easton, who was assisted by Alesdames G. Barber and Knowles. Airs J. H. Robinson, on behalf of tlie Anglican Guild, presented Mrs Easton with a dainty bouquet, Mr U. Barber replied on Mrs Easton's behalf and said how liappy Airs Easton was to sec so many presem. Afternoon tea was served, a feature of which was tlie handsome three-tiered birthday cake decorated with 85 candles. The candles were lit by two grandchildren, Murray and Robert Easion, and one great-grandchild, Avis Wells. After Mrs Easton had extinguished the candles she cut the cake, which was distributed and musical honours were accorded tho guest of'the afternoon, following which tlie usual toasts were honoured. Air L. Bcavis, pushing his barrow and on route from Auckland to AVellington in an effort to collect funds for his Gospel ship, arrived in Foxton from Palmerston North at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ho stayed the night in Foxton. The monthly afternoon of the I’rcsby tenan Ladies’ Guild was held at the rose deuce of Airs AV. Ogdon, Liddell Street. The hostesses were Alesdames Ogden and At. Thomson. A pleasant social time was spent after the routine business had Been transacted. Airs M. E. Terrcau won one competition and Miss U. Thomson another. Afternoon tea was provided. Mr AA\ Adams, of AVanganui, is spending a holiday with Air and Mrs A. S. Easton, of Foxton. Air AV. M. Thomas returned homo from a holiday spent in the north on Tuesday, and resumed duty on Wednesday. N.Z. AVoolpack and Textiles, Ltd., are now in full swing again, having commenced on the new season’s output of woolpaeks. Already sonic 300 bales, representing 15,000 packs, have been sent away.
