CHILDREN’S NARROW ESCAPE

Two young children narrowly escaped death at Levin, yesterday, when tliev got into difficulties m a pool of water in. an old gravel pit m Kent Street. The sons ol Mr and Mrs A. Bonner, of Kent Street, and aged two and nine years respectively, acby another little lel low ot about seven, they were playing on the bank of the pit when the youngest hoy fell into the water, his brother then entering also in an attempt to extricate him. Attracted by the cries of the third lad, a woman residing nearby was able to bring the smaller boy to safety, while the older lad was finally brought out unconscious by a youth who happened to be passing, but was soon revived by artificial respiration.
