DANISH BANK RATE
RISE ANNOUNCED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received August 22, 12 noon. COPENHAGEN, Aug. 21. The bank rate has been raised to 3$ per cent. This is regarded as a reply to the extremist farmers,’ threat of a foreign currency strilre. The farmers’ organisation urged that sterling, cheques, and notes be kept in the banks’ private safes and that all efforts be made to withhold foreign currency from the National Bank.
