COLLEGE RUGBY.
CHARITY DAY FIXTURE. Local football enthusiasts are welcoming tho opportunity tliat is being offered them of socing two of tho leading Auckland and Wellington college teams in uction on Saturday next, when Sacred Heart (Auckland) are to play St. Patrick's College, Silvorstream, in the annual charity match in aid of the Mayor’s relief funds. Exceptional interest is boing taken in the match locally, and numerous parties of old pupils and parents of present studonts of both colleges from the surrounding districts have already made preparations to enable then* to attend the match on Saturday. As the main object of tho match is to raise funds for the relief of local distress, every care has been taken to minimise tho expenses entailed by such a match. Only a portion of the travelling expenses of the teams is jiayable out of the gate takings, and as the boys are being billeted there will not be any charge for accommodation. Consequently, the fund should benefit materially as tho result of the game, and it is hoped that local residents will assist in making tho fixture a financial sue ccss by their patronage. St. Patrick’s College lias been established only five years, and in that period the first fifteen has played nineteen games, fifteen being won and four lost.
