TRAGIC STORY.
YOUNG MAN’S DEATH. Per Press Association. HAWERA, Aug. 22. A tragic story of a youth of 18 who took his life rather than appear in Court to answer a charge of being found on licensed premises after hours was revealed at Kaponga this morning at the inquest concerning the death of Kenneth Victor Harding. He was found in a whare on Sunday night with severe head wounds and a shotgun clasped between the knees. The summons to appear in Court to answer the charge quoted above was served on Saturday. The Coroner s verdict was that death was due to suicide while mentally depressed owing to a pending Court case.
