INCREASED REVENUE.
FIGURES FOR BRITAIN
(British Official 'Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 20.
Exchequer returns show that ordinary revenue, excluding self-balancing items, amounts to £224.432.126, as compared with £218,005,371 at the corresponding date of last year. Receipts under this head for the week were £20,453,772, against £13.906,555 in the corresponding week of 1934. and revenue is £6,426,755 higher than at ihe corresponding date ol last year. Revenue from Customs and excise is £2 652.000 greater and receipts from estate unties and stamps are also higher, while the yield from income tax despite the concessions of the finance Act, is only £230,000 less. Total ordinary ex[ienditiire, exeludj m , the self-balancing items, is £2/*6.530.582, against £‘264,547,334 at the corresponding date of 1934.
