ASSOCIATED BANKS.
CLIENTS ENTERTAINED.
One of the most successful social events of the season took iilace in Feilding, last night, when the associated banks entertained their clients at a ball. Although the weather was cold, it held fine and just under 400 people were present and enjoyed themselves to the utmost until an early hour this morning. For some time past an energetic committee had had preparations for the event in hand, and the success of their work was shown last night when the function went with a swing from the start. A Palmerston North orchestra provided the music, while the supper arrangements gave overv satisfaction. A businesslike touch was given to the decorations by large “money bags” and “coins” of various denominations which were suspended from the canopy of gaily coloured streamers. Round the walls greenery had been used to effect, and to the gallery a staircase had been provided to render tho space above available for those not dancing.
The ball was undoubtedly a complete success and reflected the utmost credit on those responsible for it. The committee responsible for the ball comprised the officers of the four banks and their wives, while the decorations of the hall were carried out by Mr Innes-Jones. The lighting effects were arranged by Mr Andersbn and Mr Pitman and these, with the decorations, were the subject of much admiration.
