SNOW ON HIGH COUNTRY

At its altitude of about 1200 ft. above sea level, Kimbolton and district comes in for some very cold weather occasionally, yesterday being another instance. Shortly after midday a threatening sky and a cold temperature gave wav to a fall of snow which soon had the surrounding hills coated white. Members of the Kiwitea County Council, who made the journey to the council meeting from Rangiwahia, stated that snow had fallen there earlier in the day, driving conditions being very difficult with the snow and sleet freezing on the windscreens of their cars. Not only Kimbolton received snow yesterday, the hill country in the direction of Peep-o-Dav and Stormy Point, across to "VYaituna, showing itself well covered with snow at 11 a.m.
