‘‘HORSESHOE REEF,” FIJI. A. remarkable error in charting the famous “Horseshoe Reef,” recognised as tho most dangerous in Fiji waters, has just been discovered, and it may be owing to this error that the Norwegian motor vessel Hoegh Trader recently went ashore. It lias been officially announced that the position of the reef is given just six cables or 1200 yards to tlie northwest of its actual position. The position of the reef (riven by the Customs authorities is latitude 17.39 south and longitude 179.17 J east. All mariners have been warned of the error.
