TRANSPORT ON SUNDAY.

A FINE INFLICTED. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 19. The supply of petrol from a bulk store to a reselling station on Sundays was held by Air IV. H. Woodward. S.M., in a reserved decision, to bo illegal. B. E. Kivell. manager of a bulk store at Stratford; It. A. Robertson, the driver of a tank waggon, and E. Walker, service-station proprietor, were convicted of Sunday trading and each was fined £l. The defence raised the contention that the replenishment of the supply was essential, but the Magistrate held that there was no necessity from the viewpoint of the public, but merely a business advantage to the three men concerned.
