WESTERN MAORI SEAT.
LABOUR CANDIDATE SUGGESTED. HUNTLY, Aug. 20. - A meeting was lield at AVaalii Pa, Huntly West, to discuss the coming general election. There was a strong recommendation ior a Maori Labour candidate to oppose the present member of Parliament for the Western Maori electorate, Mr Taito To Tonio. A number of the Maori people in the district feel that the time has arrived for an Opposition member to represent them in Parliament. An official Labour candidate may be announced at an early date.
