A. AND P. CONFERENCE.
STATEMENT OF POSITION. Official advice was received by the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association, yesterday, fro nit he North Island A and P Associations’ Conference that its executive regretted to inform affi hated associations outside of the Auckland Metropolitan and Provincial Associations that as the latter had decided to work in future with the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand, the conference was going into recess. Affiliated associations were thanked tor their loyal assistance in making the North Island Conference such ail influential and useful body. The letter stated that, if necessary, steps could be taken to resuscitate the conference, and in the meantime it was hoped that representatives of affiliated A. and P. Associations would continue to meet annually in conference as previously. Messrs W. Howard Bootli (Carterton), M. A. Conway (Cheltenham) and W. T. Penny (Palmerston North), had been appointed .a suli-committee with power to act in dealing with any matters requiring urgent consideration. No dues would be collected for this year. It was considered, too, that on account of the turn which events had taken no good purpose could be served by meeting the Royal Agricultural Society to discuss draft regulations for the control of side-shows. The letter was received, a resolution of appreciation of tho service given by the conference being passed.
