WOODVILLE. July 19. Mrs B. IT. Norman presided over a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting: of the Kumeroa-Hopolimds Women’s Institute this week. . Two new members were welcomed. A vole of thanks was passed to Miss D. La*t for her good work as acting-secretary. Two beautiful hand-made rugs were on exhibition and greatly admired. These were the work of Mrs Shcflicld, Kumoroa, and a vote of thanks was accorded her. A demonstration on tatting was given by Mrs T. Kemp. Two competitions were hold and drew a largo number cf entries. Mrs Heggic won the prize for the best knitted jumper and Mrs Newbrook was second. while Miss Daphne OMlagan won tho prize for prettiest apron, with Miss Sargent second. Mrs ,J. T. Horne and Mrs Robertson judged tho competitions. The hostesses for afternoon tea. were Mrs Hutchins, Mrs Newbrook and Miss Lynch.
