A COMPLAINT.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —May I beg a few lines in your paper to mako public a serious menace to our neighbourhood ? One evening recently, my husband was coming home about 6 p.m., and suddenly, out of the darkness, he heard the screams of a woman, and the terrific barking of n dog. He hurried to the scene, to find a girl crying and covered in mud, and her clothing disarranged. It appears that an Alsatian dog had attacked the girl and had her down. This case was reported, but apparently nothing has been done, for to-night someone from our household was going a message and heard someone screaming, and the dog barking again. Surely something ought to be done to safeguard the public from these ferocious animals. — I am, etc., FAIR PLAY.
