DIET.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The milk campaign is certainly doing good, but we must not for one moment forget that more than ten people in this fertile land are overfed, for on© who is undernourished. A milk diet should on no account be “in addition to,” but “in lieu of” the ordinary diet. Why are men and women after fifty as a rule more healthy than before? Simply because they have either reached the age of discretion and moderation, or have been driven to it as the result of self-indulgence. An M.P. who votes against the policy, of those who elected him will lose his seat, and an M.D. who does likewise will lose his practice. Their best customers are the “best” feeders. But practice makes pupils with the help of teachers and preachers, so at last we have at least 12 dietitians among our 19 healers. —I am, etc.. DIET OR DIE.
