RURAL R A KINGS. An increase of nearly 60 per cent. in antunin production of biittcrfat, an compared with (lie corresponding period of last year, was recorded by the Kia Ora (Gisborne) Dairy Company, while Ihe payout for May and .Juno supplies increased from £5956 last year lo £10.666 this year. The drastic decline m production caused by drought conditions in December and .January has been almost counteracted by Ihe remarkable conditions of the last two months, and the result is that the output for the season is only 10 tons behind that of last season, says an exchange. Ploughing operations arc now in full swing in the Greytown district. A fairly large area of land is being prepared for spring sowing. , Sheep worrying lias been reported from several parts of the Taranaki district and on two farms on the Krankley Road over 20 animals have cither been killed outright by dogs or have been drowned in tbeir attempts lo get away from the killers. Excellent, lambing conditions prevail in Central llawkc's Bay, where lambing is now in progress. The weather is all that could bn desired bright, sunny days being experienced, while feed is very good for this period of the year.
