(From Our Own Correspondent.) KOPANE, July 18. The local school basketball team journeyed to Rangiotu to meet the Rangiotu team. Afaer a fast and exciting struggle the home team secured a win by the narrow margin of 10 goals to 8. Aliss Foist refereed. Goals for Kopane wero scored by Hazel Dorn (3), Dorothy Alanson (3), and Ai'.ccn Nix (2). The combined Kopane-Kairanga football team met the combined Glen OrouaTaikoroa toam at Kopano. The homo team had the advantage of being much heavier and secured an easy win by 27 points to nil. Allen Hill (3), Alaurice Hill, Andrew Thomson, Gerald Lcen and A'laurice Slieerin scored tries and It. Winters and A. Thomson (2) converted tries. Air G. lliil carried the whistle. On Wednesday afternoon the senior A basketball team wero at liume to tho Rongotea team. Kopane were successful by 12 goals to 4. Miss Curton roferrecd. The B team played Rongotea B at ltongotea and also had a win. Mrs F. G. Alnrtin and her small daughter hnvo left to spend a holiday in Alastorton.
