(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, July 16. Mr 11. M. Watson, S.M., presided over a sitting of the Court in Bulls on day. Prior to the sitting Messrs C. 11. Edwards, F. A. Holland, and J. 11. Perrott (Sanson) were sworn in as Justices of the Peace. . . . The greater part of the sitting was taken up with the hearing of a claim for £2O for a dog which was killed by a ear threo months ago, the plaintiff being Keith Sowerby. drover, of Feilding, for whom Mr D. C. Cullinano appeared, and the defendant Eri'c Joseph Morgan, traveller, of Wanganui, whoso counsel was Mr A. Barton. After hearing the evidence His Worship, in summing up, . said that ho considered that the speed of the ear approaching the cattle arid dog was,.under the circumstances, excessive. He estimated tlio value of the dog at £B. and gave judgment for that amount, with costs £3 9s 6d. G. V. Jackson, charged with operating a motor vehicle vl.'ich was not was represented by Mr It. Mackay who entered a plcae of guilty. His client, he said, had purchased the car some six months ago, but "the vendor had neglected to transfer the registration papers, although repeated demands had been made for them. His client bad tried to register the car, but could not do so until the papers were procured from the previous owner, who was now in Australia. The car was not in use, but owing to a matter of urgency it had been used on this occasion. The registration papers had since come to hand and no further trouble was likely to occur.
