DELAYED INQUEST.
SUPPOSED DROAVNING TRAGEDY. Per Press Association. HOKITIKA, July 17. In connection with the reported drowning in tho Okarito Lagoon on March 10 of AVilliam Jeames Hayward, in spite of a diligent search no trace of the body has been discovered. The Coroner reported the facts to the At-torney-General, who referred the matter to the Solicitor-General, who lias dispensed with the necessity of the Coroner viewing the body and lias directed that an inquest be held. This will shortly take place at Okarito.
